What is Ink & Jade?
Ink & Jade is a US-registered art studio dedicated to Chinese Buddhist stone carving. We work from hand-carved Buddha sculptures — 27 originals in our library, some engraved with complete sutras — and render them into quiet, light-filled wall art. Every print traces back to a real statue we can name. No stock imagery, no licensed art.
What are the prints made of?
Each giclée print is produced with pigment inks on heavyweight archival museum-grade paper, rated for decades of display. Every design comes in five sizes, from desk format to large wall pieces. Prints ship rolled in a protective tube.
Which eras of Chinese sculpture do you cover?
Our collections follow the great eras of Chinese Buddhist art: the serene halos of Northern Qi (550–577), the graceful elongated figures of Northern Wei (386–534), and more. Each era collection includes a short curator's essay in our Heritage Journal.
What is a hand-rubbed ink rubbing?
An ink rubbing (拓片, tuòpiàn) is made by laying dampened xuan paper over a carved stone stele and dabbing ink across the surface, so the carved design appears as black strokes on white paper. The technique has more than 1,400 years of documented history in China and was the standard way to reproduce sutras and inscriptions before printing. Our rubbings are hand-rubbed by artisans from carved steles in that same tradition.
Are your rubbings antiques?
No. We sell modern hand-rubbed reproductions made from carved stone steles — never excavated or antique originals, which are protected cultural property. Every rubbing ships with a numbered certificate of authenticity stating that it is a contemporary reproduction.

How fast is delivery?
Giclée prints: 2–4 business days production plus 3–7 business days US delivery. Totes, pillows and tapestries: 2–4 days production plus 3–8 days delivery. US orders over $60 ship free; otherwise a flat $6.90. Custom stone sculptures travel by sea freight: 6–12 weeks production plus 4–8 weeks transit.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to 48 countries across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. International delivery runs 7–21 business days, quoted at checkout; customs duties may apply (DDU).
What makes the original sculptures special?
Our originals are carved by stone artisans working in a lineage centuries old. Some robes are engraved with complete sutras, character by character. We photograph the statues in the workshop and render each scene at a 1:1 ratio at 300dpi.
Can I commission a full stone Buddha statue?
Yes. Selected works are available as full stone sculptures, carved to order and shipped by sea freight worldwide. Tell us about your space and our workshop will quote within 48 hours. Commissions start at $3,000 — see the commission page for details.
What is your return policy?
Physical items (prints, totes, tapestries, pillows) may be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused and in original condition; return shipping is paid by the customer unless the item arrived damaged. Refunds go to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receipt. Damaged or wrong items are replaced or refunded in full — see our Refund Policy for details.
